Team DC Schedule Announced

The schedule for Team DC at the 2016 USA Hockey America's Showcase April 14-18 in Pittsburgh has been announced. The team will compete in Pool B and open play on Thursday, April 14 at 8 a.m. against New York. The remaining pool-play contests will be held on April 15 and 16, with the consolation and playoff rounds slated for April 17 and 18. The event will be held

"This is our sixth trip to the Pittsburgh Showcase, and this year we think that we will be able to put together a team with enough talent to compete for a championship," Team DC General Manager Tony MacAulay said. "Our pool will not be easy, but based on our past experiences at the event I don't see any reason that we can compete with any of the teams in the group."

After the opening contest, Team DC returns to the ice on Friday, April 15, at 1pm against Massachusetts before rounding out pool play on Saturday April 16 at 1pm against Washington. The other teams in Pool B are Maryland, Colorado Burgundy, Ohio and Texas.

Pool A is comprised of Indiana, Missouri Blue, California, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Midwest and New Jersey. Pool C includes Arizona, Missouri White, Colorado White, Florida, North Dakota, Oregon, San Diego and Utah.

Tournament quarterfinals are scheduled for the morning and afternoon on Sunday April, 17, with the semifinals slated for that evening and the championship set for 10 a.m. on Monday, April 18. All games will be played at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center.

Team DC will depart for Pittsburgh from the Gardens Ice House in Laurel via motor coach on Wednesday, April 13. The team will visit Robert Morris University and other colleges in the Pittsburgh area during its down time.

America's Showcase 2020
Showcase Logo St. Louis.png

USA Hockey America's Showcase was developed to provide the nation’s premier high school players an opportunity to be scouted by high-level programs so those players may further their hockey careers in prep school, juniors, college, and beyond. Our five days packed with over 50 competitive hockey games gives the scouts on-hand (and watching online) plenty of opportunities to recruit from the wealth of talent on the ice. The success of our event is ultimately measured by how many of those players are able to use America's Showcase as a springboard to a successful future in the upper echelon of hockey programs in North America.
